Happy Pi Day!

I just heard about this today. I think Pie Day would be better than Pi Day, but apparently (according to the American Pie Council, whatever that is) Pie Day is 1/23.

Here at MIT, Pi Day is celebrated... by eating pie. And you see people writing down digits of pi. Yee-freaking-haw to that. Pi = 3 or so. I only need more digits after that if I'm doing a precision experiment. And I'm never doing a precision experiment.

If you're European, you can also celebrate Pi Approximation Day on July 22 (22/7). Oh, and Eric:

And despite how pathetic and silly that is, there's a bit of graffiti in the bathroom at Max's that has pi out to a couple more digits than that.

Curses! Blogger's formating truncated the last digits of my pi! Oh, well. It was out to 64 digits, which is another nerdily appropriate number.
